THE NEWLY-COMPLETED THREE STOREY SCHOOL BUILDING AT DON RESTITUTO BAOL CENTRAL SCHOOL

Begun in 2007, the three-storey fifteen classroom school building finally stood proud on December 18, 2010 in the middle of the former wooden classrooms, part of which were already demolished for being so dilapidated. This design is the first of its kind in Mindanao. The other 18 CL in Gingoog City Comprehensive National High School was built by the Provincial Giovernment of Misamis Oriental, with counterpart from the City Government of Gingoog City. NEWLY-FINISHED PROJECTS FOR CY 2010

Three-seater Type II toilets were recently finished in different sites this division. One is in Talisay Elementary School, North District and the other in Dona Josefa P. Reyes Elementary School in West District. The other works are repair of classroom in Lunao Central School (3 classrooms) and in Odiongan Central School (9 classrooms). The aforecited projects were under contract with Edmond Ray Construction.

LSB PROJECTS FOR DIVISION OFFICE IMPROVEMENT

The extension of the Division Office building receives One Million in two tranches of Php 500, 000.00 each. Additional One and a Half Million Pesos is requested to finally make it a habitable shell (No finishing works yet) for some personnel to move into. Meanwhile, the Division perimeter fence was also finished by late March. Two Hundred Thousand Pesos was alloted for the works. This will finally solve the problem of outsiders and students of the nearby Don Restituto Baol Central School from passing through the division premises either walking or speeding rhough with their motor vehicles.

The funds for the repainting was taken from the Php 500, 000.00 repair funds from depED Central Office. MLES GABALDON BUILDING WILL UNDERGO RESTORATION

The Gabaldon Building at Manuel Lugod ES which was one of he oldest school building in Gingoog City is slated to undergo a restoration job if things go smoothly. Last March the heritage consultant of DepED, Architect Melvin Patawaran, visited MLES and assessed the structure of the building. He said the building stood a good chance of being restored and he will include it in this year's budget allocation for heritage buildings around the country. Architect Patawaran disclosed that Gabaldon buildings were design for maximum confort for its occupants. The large awning capiz windows ensure that no rainwater enters the building during rainy days. Heigh ceilings ensure good air circulation inside the building. There are usually seven rooms in such a building, four corner of which were intended for classroom use while the center four have movable partitions for meetings and other special gatherings. SCHOOL REPAIR AND WATER AND SANITATION FACILITIES FOR CY 2011

Repair budget for schools came in tricklings so it was decided to have one site to get the full impact of the allocation. This year's recipient is Balp-ason ES in Gingoog East District. The repair budget is a little past One Million Pesos. It is expected to realy improve the aesthetic appearance and enhance comfort to the children of Bal-ason ES. Three-seater toilets to improve water and sanitation facilities will also be built in the following sites: Daan Lungsod ES, Don Restituto Baol CS, Pedro Maligmat ES, Gingoog City Comprehensive National High School, and Mimbunga National High School. The total cost is One and A Half Million Pesos.

SCHOOL FURNITURE CY 2010 CAME IN BELATEDLY

The allocation for School Furniture for various schools in Gingoog City was released early March this year, making it a little late by three months. Better late than never, as they say. The 75% allocation, which will be procured by the Division Office amounted to almost Nine Hundred Thousand Pesos. Procurement process will commence after the Holy Week celebration.
