The two-storey school building projects in Gingoog City is nearing completion! One project, at the Don Restituto Baol Central School is already about 80% complete while that at Gingoog City Comprehensive National High School is estimated at 60% complete. This project is funded by GAA CY 2011 for Basic Educational Facilities Funds CY 2011. Each school building costs almost Five Million Pesos (Php 5,000,000.00). Earlier, two classrooms were finished in Alfonso Ang Militante ES and Agay-ayan ES, respectively. Two other projects - implemented by DPWH were also completed in Anakan CS and Alfosno Ang Militante ES, respectively.

It was in 2009 that the first 2 classroom building was inagurated with no less than the Governor of Misamis Oriental present, together with the City Mayor. Then in 2010 they came again when another three classroom building was inaugurated. Today they came back again to inaugurate the third school building for GCCNHS-LURISA ANNEX In his speech Governor Moreno recalled the number of times he came here and also mentioned about his electrification project when he was still a congressman of the First District of Misamis Oriental. He recalled how the former barangay captain of Lunotan cried when the electricity for her barangay (Lunotan) was switched on. Two single - storey classrooms one in Agay-ayan Elementary School and the other in Alfonso Ang Militante Elementary School were recently completed, keys turned over by the contractor to the school head. These two projects are part of the 2011 Basic Education Educational Facilities (BEFF)which is aimed at mitigating classroom shortages. These leave only two projects all two-storeys 4 classroom buildings at Gingoog City Comprehansive National High School and the other one at Don Restituto Baol Central School to be completed soon. The BEFF CY 2011 school building projects cost more than Ten Million Pesos.

The building activities for the CY 2011 Basic Educational Facilities Funds (BEFF) is inching its way to completion as the JDE Construction, which won the bid for the construction of 2 storey 4 classroom school building is currently pouring concrete on the beams preparatory to the floor slab for the second floor. The physical facilities coordinator Edgardo V. Abanil and the DepED Engineer Sandy Simo, made rounds on the project yesterday. Meanwhile the other 2 storey 4 classroom school building at Gingoog City Comprehensive National High School, conducted by Reyrose Construction, is also on its way to completing the concrete columns. It has just complete the tie beams below ground level. The 1 storey 1 classroom school buildings in Agay-ayan ES and Alfonso Ang Militante ES, are on its 95% accomplishment. The division physical facilities coordinator made another round of inspection in various BEFF projects after his ten - day training in Baguio City.

The comfort room of the Schools Division Superintendent was improved to have more space for meetings and to provide a corner where one can take refreshments.

The Division Physical Facilities Coordinator, Mr. Edgardo V. Abanil, and the DepED Engineer, Engr. Sandy Simo made another round of inspection for the on-going BEFF projects in the Division of Gingoog City. The first target was Don Restituto Baol Central School with its on-going 4 classroom-2 storey school building. The forerman has asked permission to pour concrete into the next set of column and column footings. The Physical Facilities made a random check on the size of the steel components and found that on the average, the steel bars are of the prescribed sizes. The next was the project of the same description at Gingoog City Comprehensive National High School. Again the random check was made on the steel components and found to be in accordance with standards. These projects were expected to be usable by the end of September 2011.

Engr. Ronald Benitez came yesterday to monitor the progress of the school building projects in Gingoog City under the Basic Educational Facilities Fund CY 2011. The total allocation for buildings total to almost 11 Million Pesos for the following projects: 1. Two storey 4 classroom school building at Gingoog City Comprehensive NHS. 2. Two storey 4 classroom school building at Don Restituto Baol CS. 3. One storey 1 classroom school building at Agay-ayan ES 4. One storey 1 classroom school building at Alfonso Ang Militante ES. The said projects are expected to be finished by the month of September 2011.

The contractor, JDE Construction, through its foreman, asked permission to pour foundation concrete at the four classroom, two storey school building at Don Restituto Baol Central School. Seeing that the rebars and gravel bed are in order, permission was give. The Physical Facilities Coordinator, Edgardo V. Abanil personally supervised the pouring of concrete. See photos for details.
